2. What we collect
When you sign up, we collect:
- Email address (required to send you the newsletter)
- First name (optional, for personalization)
- ZIP code (optional, to send at the best time for your timezone)
- Timezone (detected automatically from your browser unless you opt out)
When you interact with our emails, we collect:
- Whether you opened an email (via a 1×1 tracking pixel)
- Which deals you clicked (via redirect through our tracking endpoint)
- The time of day you typically open emails (used to improve send timing)
We do not collect: phone numbers, payment information, browsing history outside our emails, or location beyond ZIP code.
3. How we use it
- Send you the daily DealFarmer newsletter
- Choose which deals to feature based on your engagement
- Time delivery for your timezone
- Measure newsletter performance in aggregate
We never sell your data. We don't share your data with advertisers.
4. Who we share with
- Amazon Web Services (Simple Email Service): handles email delivery on our behalf. Bound by AWS data processing agreements.
- Amazon Associates and other affiliate networks: when you click a deal link, your click is tracked by the destination network for commission purposes. We only share an anonymized click identifier — not your name or email.
- Supabase: our database provider. Data resides on Supabase infrastructure.
5. Cookies and tracking
Our website uses minimal cookies — only those required for site functionality (authentication, session). Our emails contain a tracking pixel and link-redirect tracker. You can disable images in your email client to prevent open tracking. Clicks are tracked when you click a link in our emails.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data (this also unsubscribes you)
- Export your data in a portable format

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have additional rights including the right to opt out of "sale" of personal information. We don't sell personal information, but you can confirm this preference at the email above.

7. Children
DealFarmer is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete the record.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security: HTTPS for all web traffic, encrypted database storage, restricted admin access. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in the newsletter at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
